Hunt Valley, Maryland, February 24, 2006
- Today WebbMason, the industry’s leading print management company, released its 15th Enterprise Print Management (EPM) Online upgrade. EPM Online delivers the ability to manage all of an organizations printing needs online, changing the way organizations order print. The latest enhancements include: a virtual proofing system; database segmentation options for direct mail and e-communication campaigns; customization report options; ability for organizations to define and apply maximum quantity ordering rules for select users and user groups; ensuring the ordering process is quicker and easier; and the ability for users to log on to their organizations’ Intranets and have their security credentials automatically transferred to approved associated organization sites (e.g. EPM Online).

"The goal of our EPM Online system is to streamline the ordering process, allow organizations to manage the use of its brand and reduce costs,” said Brian Fritsche, WebbMason CIO. “This is precisely why WebbMason continues to release major EPM Online upgrades every 90-120 days. About 80 percent of the enhancements we release are suggestions from our 80,000 EPM Online users. We pride ourselves on listening to our customers needs and wants, and providing timely and routine delivery."

New EPM Online Features

  • New virtual proofing system: Permits users to view printer proofs, including color and content, real time eliminating turnaround time with electronic or hard copy proofs.
  • Innovative database segmentation option: Allows users to organize e-mail and address lists as they see fit providing targeted direct mail and e-communication campaigns options.
  • Enhanced ordering system: Ensures the ordering process is quicker and easier.
  • New ordering guidelines: Permits users to apply and define maximum quantity and timeframe rules for select users and user groups. EPM Online will automatically hold an order if it exceeds the specified quantity and timeframe and will notify a user’s administrator. User administers can then delete the order or override the established restrictions and place the order.
  • Updated customization report options: Allows users to modify or customize online reports, as well as request customized reports from WebbMason’s content management team. The content management team will then build reports based on the customers’ needs.
  • New single sign-on feature: Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) allows users to log onto their organization’s Intranets and have their security credentials automatically transferred to approved organization sites. Because SAML is a secure framework for exchanging security-related information, such as passwords and usernames, users can confidently connect to various approved organization sites without logging on multiple times. SAML keeps track of new hires and former employees to ensure access validity.

"In addition to the upgrades that immediately benefit the EPM Online user, upgrades also enhance the way we work with our printing and promotional product partners," said Fritsche. "For the latest release, we have expanded the way we communicate with our supply chain, which ultimately helps reduce customers’ costs."
